Post Street Advisors was incubated out of Patamar Capital.
Patamar started in venture capital nearly two decades ago, but over time Patamar learned that the businesses that needed its capital most did not always fit neatly within that model. As Patamar deepened its understanding of what businesses at the margins of traditional finance actually needed, its approach evolved with them.
Patamar expanded into small and medium-sized debt funds, private credit, and early-stage equity, deploying capital where traditional frameworks could not always reach. Along the way, Patamar introduced vehicles like Beacon and co-launched the Investing in Women Fund with the Australian government, while sharpening its focus on sectors where impact could be most durable.
Over the course of managing five equity funds, three gender-lens funds, a debt fund, and a portfolio of more than 80 companies, Patamar accumulated something that cannot be replicated quickly: operational depth. Fifteen years of navigating the financial, compliance, and reporting demands of impact investing — across geographies, fund structures, and investor expectations — created a body of institutional knowledge that lives not just in Patamar’s systems, but in its people.
Managing multiple small and medium-sized funds also presented Patamar with a challenge of its own. Patamar needed to build the operational robustness expected of an institutional investment platform while remaining cost-effective and efficient across funds with very different economics.
The longer Patamar worked through that challenge, the clearer it became that Patamar was not alone. Many small and mid-sized fund managers faced the same operational gap. They needed institutional-grade infrastructure and expertise, without the traditional cost base that came with it.
With that realization, Post Street Advisors (PSA) emerged as a standalone entity serving funds, emerging companies and impact investors. PSA is how Patamar puts its accumulated operational knowledge to work beyond its own funds. Incubated within Patamar Capital and headquartered in San Francisco, PSA is a fractional financial services and advisory platform built around a simple proposition: enabling GPs, fund managers, and founders to focus on what they know best while PSA takes care of the financial and administrative complexity behind their organization.
Today, PSA delivers fund operations, financial management, and impact reporting to small and mid-sized fund managers and emerging companies. PSA combines people who have actually done the work with technology that makes that expertise more efficient and scalable — giving funds and founders institutional-grade support built around the economics they actually operate with.
That is what Transforming Our Challenges to Your Advantage means to PSA.
